It's almost the end of the year and I haven't written our holiday gift guide. Well, here it is. As always I have no financial interest in these suggestions (except for the lessons).
Some Gift Ideas for any photographer:

Magazine Subscriptions:
National Geographic
Professional Photographer (UK)
Commercial Photographer (Japan)
Archive (Luerzers)
Vogue
Movies:
Under Fire (1983 Movie)
Bang Bang Club (2010 Movie)
Online:
Kelby Training
Cameras:
Canon T2i Kit (beginner)
Canon 60D Kit (intermediate)
Olympus EPL-1 - great travel camera. Rivals DSLRs for quality.
PowerShot SX150 IS For the mom and dad. Uses AA batteries - lots of zoom.
For the DSLR owner - get them a good flash. The built in one is terrible (if they have one built in). This is a wonderful, useful, valuable gift.
Canon 430 EX II - don't need the power of the 580 EX II most of the time
Nikon SB-700 - if you can find a sb-600 that is good too.
Lenses that DSLR owners should own other than the kit if you want to take great portraits:
Canon 50mm F1.8 Skip the 1.4 and go 1.2 if you want to upgrade.
Nikon 50mm F1.8 There is a cheaper version
Panasonic 20mm F1.7 (for Olympus & m4/3rds)
Popular items that I don't use but seem to be catching on (I haven't bought them for one reason or another):
Black Rapid Straps
Spider Camera Holster
Totally Rad Actions
Lensbaby Composer
Fujifilm X100
Software
Adobe Lightroom 3 for the serious enthusiast.
DXO Optics Pro 6 - for the even more serious enthusiast or architectural photographer.
Adobe Photoshop Elements (does most of what people need from the full PS)
Computer Hardware
Sypder 3 Elite (or Huey Pro) Color Calibrater for your computer screen. Makes colors accurate.
Wacom Intuos 4 (or Bamboo)
Eye-FI 8GB Pro X2 - wireless transfer of JPEG and RAW (which the non-pro doesn't do)
Ergotron LX Monitor stand (don't own one... but debating getting one)
PhotoTrackr GPS - Sort of cool? Not sure yet.
Bags
Tenba Messenger Large - a great everyday bag at a reasonable price (call Albert @ 401.751.5190)
Kelley Moore B-Hobo Bag - a great purse looking bag for the ladies.
MISC
Sensor Scope camera sensor cleaner- need to buy swabs though.
Blurb Books Gift Card - give the gift of a custom photo book
Promaster Lens Caps - they are surprisingly better than the standard caps
Polarizing Filter (everyone should have one)
Maha Battery Charger - the C9000 seems like a lot of money until you use it a lot and then it seems cheap.
Toraysee Lens Cloths - the best I have ever used... may only be available in Japan unless ordered in bulk.
UN Raincoat Jumbo- the best and most affordable Camera rain cover I have used. Japan only.
Ilford Gallerie Gold Fibre Paper - a great photo paper
Eneloop Rechargeable Batteries - much longer shelf life than standard NiMH. Made in Japan - watch out for fakes on Amazon.
Hampton Bay Sunlight Desk Lamp - Less color caste on prints
