as always - don't copy or distribute without asking
I will admit I feel about ten years older than I am looking at these photos. But, at the same time I love food. Especially local food. In fact, I think it's fair to say I am a big fan of locally grown/raised/prepared food. Last year we were part of a farm share (which included multiple farms), and damn it was good. Maybe a bit pricey and it started a lot stronger than it ended, but it was fun.
So, these are images from the Hope Artiste Village farmers market. These run through the winter, though these pictures were taken at the beginning of May.
If you like sukiyaki, it can be hard to find the right negi - which is basically something between scallion and leeks. But these hearty scallions came in pretty close.
I like seafood - maybe it's a little bit of the Japanese thing, but it's definitely the New England thing. I've got to go fishing again soon. At one time lobster was considered a trash fish and there were legal limits on how much of it you could feed your servants. How times have changed.
On a different note, went camping in Pawtuckaway for the first time this weekend. Good times. I may post a couple of those photos in a bit.
