Baby steps. So, yesterday I got a sneak peak at the new New England Bouldering guide book. I have a couple of photos in the book, both advertisements, and I worked on the ad designs as well. First photos in a book.

When you've done everything you can, the question always becomes how will it print. We're not involved in the publication or printing at all, so we are at the mercy of the publishing company. One of the concerns is printing too dark or too light. There is a tendency to trend dark when printing images soft-proofed on screen. Then the reaction is to over lighten to compensate for anticipated problems.

But, all that said, trusting your gut after plenty of print trials can lead to good things. We got good placement and good color. Solid picture prints (though I like the full page ad more - I may be biased).
