follow the light

Galen Rowell wrote a book called "mountain light - in search of the dynamic landscape." Every now and then I am reminded by amazing photos that I do not live in Peru or Colorado. I live in a state with a max elevation of 800ft above sea level. So, without the valleys and peaks that seem to dominate outdoor landscape photography, I forget sometimes that everyday something amazing can happen.
As it was today. A major storm just came through the Northeast and while I was working on a project indoors the light outside was becoming very dramatic and eerie. If I had noticed earlier I probably could have made something of it. As it was, all I could do was grab Amie and stand outside for a minute of snapshots.
Next time. I've been indoors far too much this summer.
Checkout http://www.lightscapephoto.com/ for some great photography by a non-professional. Not that he couldn't be, but he's an ER doctor instead.
