the future of photography

I just read an interesting article on the future of photography and the cross-over with video over at luminous-landscape.com. I've pondered this question a great deal. I shoot video, and have for years. With professional video cameras getting up to the resolution of DSLR's the bells are tolling for still photography. Or so it would seem. Why shoot stills one at a time when you can just pull a still from the video.
But as you may observe I have opened a commercial photography business this past month. Why? Because the future of photography is sound. The question people are starting to ask is whether it will be still or moving. But, it doesn't matter. The real future is lighting. The company that knows how to light the best will succeed. We must endeavor to be that company. Composition and lighting will always be king, whether we are shooting at 1 frame per second or 60.
Here's to the future. Cheers.
James
